Zinedine Zidane: Gareth Bale Is Not Happy At Real Madrid

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has admitted that winger Gareth Bale is not happy at Los Blancos amid a raft of transfer rumours.

Bale has not been able to hold a place down under Zidane this season and speculation of a departure from Madrid has increased in recent weeks.

Manchester United and Tottenham are rumoured to be interested in the Welshman as a return to the Premier League may beckon.

Real play Atletico in a Madrid derby this afternoon (3.15pm) with Bale set to missout on a place in the starting XI.

And Zidane is not surprised that his Bale is not the happiest member of his squad.

"I understand that he is not in a good mood, that's normal," Zidane said.

"Players want to play in every game. We know what a good player he is and what he has done.

“I have to take decisions but if he doesn'tplay two games it doesn't mean anything. I still think he's an important player."

Bale got his Real Madrid career off to a flyer in his first season, winning the Champions League in 2014.

European success has remained but Bale has failed to live up to the heights of his debut campaign.

However despite his frustrations, Zidane is confident of keeping Bale at the Bernabeu past the summer.

"My sensation is that he will stay but I don't know everything that will happen," Zidane added.

"He won't lose any motivation, he's like the rest of the squad. It's my job to try and make sure he plays as well as always.

“He's an important player but others played against Juventus and did very well. That's football."
