UCL: Real Madrid Thrash Juventus 3-0, Bayern Munich Defeat Sevilla 2-1

Cristiano Ronaldo once again proved his worth in the Champions League, scoring twice as Real Madrid defeat Juventus 3-0 in the first leg of their quarter-final clash.

The Portugal captain has been on fire in the second half of this season, having started the campaign poorly.

Ronaldo ensured the defending champions got off to a flyer in Turin, slidingpast Gianluigi Buffon within five minutes.

The 33-year-old doubled their advantage in the second half, with a neatly executed overhead kick, before Marcelo added the third.

He has now scored 22 in Champions League quarter-finals.

The return leg takes place next Wednesday at the Bernabeu.

In the other match:

Bayern Munich came from a goal down, to defeat Sevilla 2-1 in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final clash on Tuesday night.

The LaLiga side created some great chances in the first half but were profligate in front of goal.

They eventually took the lead through Pablo Sarabia.

Jesus Navas put through his own goal, before ex-Barcelona star Thiago completed the comeback with a header.

The second away goal gives Bayern a big advantage ahead of the second leg at the Allianz Stadium next week.
