Liverpool Boss Jurgen Klopp Provides Injury Update On Mohamed Salah

Mohamed Salah has played down injury fears after he limped off in Liverpool's 3-0 win over Manchester City, Jurgen Klopp has assured.

Shortly after half-time, following a chase for the ball, Salah pulled up holding his groin.

After receiving treatment on the touchline, Salah went down the tunnel and was replaced by Gini Wijnaldum.

Towards the end of the match, Salah returned to the bench and sat alongside his team-mates.

And in his post-match interview, Reds manager Klopp revealed Salah had told him that he was feeling ok.

Klopp said: "We lose one player to injury (Mo Salah) and another - the captain (Jordan Henderson) - to a yellow card so it does not feel good.

"Mo said he feels good but we will have to see about that.

"Jordan Henderson will miss next week’s second leg after being booked in the second half for a foul on Raheem Sterling.

And the Liverpool captain said he was unlucky to receive a yellow card.

He said: "We knew the atmosphere would be brilliant and it was, and we made the most of that. Second half they came at us more, we dropped deep at times.

"Our game is about working together as a team and we did that brilliantly.

"We all chipped in with the hard yards. It's only the first leg.

"I didn't make many fouls in the game so it's disappointing to miss out next week."
