Juventus Boss Allegri Reacts After Champions League Exit

Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri has made a stunning admission after his side crashed out of the Champions League.

Europe’s elite competition produced a shock on Tuesday night when Roma overturned a three-goal deficit against Barcelona at the Stadio Olimpico.

Juventus came very close to achieving the same feat at the Bernabeu as they won 3-1 on the night.

However, Cristiano Ronaldo scored with a spot kick deep in stoppage time of the second half to to deny Juve, whom they beat in last year’s final at Cardiff.

Gianluigi Buffon was sent off in what is likely to be his last ever Champions League appearance.

And Allegri has admitted he was already preparing substitutions as he thought the tie was going into extra time.

"I have a bitter taste as we didn't have the chance to go to extra-time,” Allegri said.

“Both sides would've deserved that I think.

"Small details changed the whole tie unfortunately.

“I had two more substitutions planned for extra-time and I was confident we could do it."

Real Madrid will learn their semi-final fate when the draw is made on Friday at midday UK time.
