Liverpool Legend Steven Gerrard Makes Sensational Luis Suarez Claim

Steven Gerard believes the current Liverpool attacking line-up is a better setup than the one.
Suarez became a fan-favourite during his short stint at Anfield after nearly leading Liverpool to their first Premier League title in 2014.

He scored 31 goals while being flanked by Daniel Sturridge and Raheem Sterling who combined for 65 goals between the three of them.

Overall, the Uruguay international netted 82 times in 133 games for the Reds in an attack that struck fear into rival defences.

But Liverpool now have a brand new attacking line-up that is wreaking havoc this season.

Philippe Coutinho may have left, but Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane are on top form and the trio combined for five in the win over Porto last night with the latter netting a hat-trick.

And Gerrard believes Jurgen Klopp has amore rounded attacking line-up at his disposal than the one Brendan Rodgers had with Suarez.

“What I would say about the comparisons between Suarez and this current team is that there is a better blend here (in the current team),” Gerrard said on BT Sport.

“With Mane you have the pace and directness, with Firmino you have the touch and hold-up play and securing the ball, and then you have Salah that gives you a bit of both and delivers goals.

Gerrard added: “The workrate of this Liverpool team is very, very special, and you also notice how unselfish they are.

“There's no greed in the team, there's nobody who is selfish. They all pass the ball to each other.

“If someone is in a better area, they look for each other. And they are all gettinginon the act because they know they are going to score heavily.”
